We sincerely thank all of those who were a part of it. This year will undoubtedly be even better...
Walk or run...this race is for everyone!
Join us as we are racing to cure cystic fibrosis!
Thank you and welcome to our site. The proceeds of this event will go entirely to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The stated mission of the CF Foundation is to: "assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease."
The origin of this race began the day after eight friends gathered to either run in or support a marathon in the fall of 2008. At breakfast the morning after the race, tired and sore, but exhilarated by the previous day's excitement and joy, the soon-to-be committee brainstormed a way in which they could stretch the benefits of training to reach beyond themselves.
Personally touched by a mutual friend's daughter, who lives with the challenges of Cystic Fibrosis, our new committee became determined to plan, organize and initiate a local race to benefit the CF Foundation. The "Bow Lake Dam 15k/5k" is the result of our brainstorm. The 2nd annual event will happen at Bow Lake in Strafford, NH on June 12, 2010. Registration takes place between 8:00am and 9:30am at the Grange Hall, located on Water Street.
The race is a certified USATF (USA Track & Field) Sanctioned Event (#09-02-090). Please note that at USATF sanctioned events, for safety reasons, participants are NOT allowed to push baby strollers or wear headphones. Also note that you do not have to be a USATF member to be eligible to win prizes.
